Cookie policy
The short version
This site sets one cookie, to remember your cookie choice. We use no advertising, social network or cross-site tracking tags, and our fonts are served from our own domain. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, also runs its Web Analytics on every page: it sets no cookie and uses no local storage (details below).
Your choice
On your first visit we ask for your choice. "Accept all" and "Reject all" are equally easy, and "Customise" lets you decide category by category. Refusing changes nothing in how the site works.
We keep your choice for 6 months, then ask again. We also ask again if this policy changes in a way that affects your choice. You can change your mind at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page, or here:
Categories
Strictly necessary
Needed for the site to work and to remember the choices you make here. They cannot be switched off and need no consent. Consent law exempts them because they are needed for a service you ask for, or for the security of the site.
Marketing
We use no marketing or advertising tags today. If we ever add one (for example a social network tag), it stays off until you switch this on, and we will ask you again first.
Audience measurement: Cloudflare Web Analytics
Cloudflare adds its Web Analytics to every page of this site when it delivers it, whatever you chose in the cookie settings. It is why the cookie settings have no "audience measurement" category: they would not control it. According to Cloudflare, it sets no cookie, does not use local storage or any similar identifier on your device, and does not store your IP address. It collects aggregated page-view data: the page address, the referring page, browser and device type, the country derived from your IP address, and page load timings. Cloudflare processes this for us as a service provider. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring how the site is used. Details are in the privacy policy.
Browser tracker blockers and some privacy extensions block this measurement; you can use one if you prefer. Blocking it does not change how the site works.
Everything the site stores or loads
| Name | Type | Category | Set by | Purpose | Duration | When |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| celesdev_consent | Cookie | Strictly necessary | celesdev.com | Remembers your cookie choice, the policy version and when you made the choice. | 6 months | When you accept, reject or save your choices. |
| celesdev-theme | Local storage | Strictly necessary | celesdev.com | Remembers the light or dark theme you picked. | Until you clear your browser data | Only when you use the theme switch in the footer. |
| __cf_bm, cf_clearance | Cookie | Strictly necessary | Cloudflare (hosting) | Security: tells people apart from automated traffic when Cloudflare checks a request. | 30 minutes by default | Only if Cloudflare challenges your connection. Normal browsing sets neither. |
Apart from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare adds when it delivers a page, fonts, images and scripts all come from celesdev.com. Links to other sites (our Google Calendar booking page, LinkedIn) are plain links: nothing from those sites loads until you follow them, and their own cookie policies apply there.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also delete cookies and site data, or block them, in your browser settings. If you delete the consent cookie, we simply ask for your choice again on your next visit.
